It’s a one-time automatic payment to our personal auto insurance customers, the latest in a number of relief measures offered by Pembridge and Pafco to help customers impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
It’s simply the right thing to do.
It is our effort to help relieve the restrictions, changing business practices and financial burden imposed on our customers during these challenging times. Customers are staying at home to care for themselves and their families, driving less and filing fewer claims. Our commitment is to put our customers first and support them with strength, experience and care.
Each customer who qualifies for the “Stay at Home Payment” will receive payment of approximately 25% of their monthly auto premium.
Customers who have an active automobile policy with us as of April 8, 2020 will automatically qualify to receive this payment.
No, we are seeing a reduction of kilometers driven and claims filed for personal vehicles since the pandemic; however, we are not seeing a similar claim trend in our other lines of insurance such as home insurance.
We are working to get these payments issued as quickly as possible. Many people are experiencing financial challenges at this time. All customers who qualify can expect to receive a cheque in the mail in May 2020. There is no need to call in to receive the payment.
Any personal vehicles, including Medium/Heavy trucks. Recreational vehicles such as motorcycles and snowmobiles do not qualify.
